This workshop, with poet and editor of Nine Arches Press Jane Commane, will aim to help poets with a body of work, refine, edit and fine tune their poetry for submission to publishers. We will focus on close line edits, punctuation, line breaks, form, sharpening images and metaphors, identifying and removing cliché, titles, order and on refining the themes or narrative arcs in the overall manuscript. Advice will also be given on the variety of publishing options currently available, how to find the right publisher for you, and how best to submit your work. We will discuss what editors look for in a manuscript, and how to make yours stand out in the submissions pile. This workshop is aimed at poets at an intermediate or more advanced stage, who are working on a pamphlet or a full collection of poems.
