This course will consider what plot is, what plot does and the common plot pitfalls into which both new and experienced writers often fall. It’s suitable for beginners trying to wrestle their plots into shape and for developing writers who need a hand untying all the knots preventing them from completing their novels. Along the way we’ll talk about structure, pacing, the importance of sub-plot and deal once and for all with the dreaded problem of writer’s block.

About the Tutor:
Mike Gayle is the author of fifteen novels including the Sunday Times Bestselling My Legendary Girlfriend, Mr Commitment and Turning Thirty. Previously a journalist and agony uncle Mike’s work has appeared in a variety of publications including The Sunday Times, The Guardian and Cosmopolitan.
