Using published examples and playful exercises, this series of workshops will offer participants a deeper understanding of crucial elements in novel writing (such as character, setting, point of view and structure). During this course we’ll look at genre and endings and how to develop critical editing skills. There will also be advice on the practicalities of submitting, and further exercises to continue refining your unique writing voice.
Suitable as an extension to Megan’s ‘Beginning your Novel’ course or to new participants eager to develop their writing.
About the Tutor:
Megan Taylor is the author of three novels, How We Were Lost, The Dawning and The Lives of Ghosts, as well as a short story collection, The Woman Under the Ground. Her writing has made the shortlist in several competitions, most recently in The Brighton Prize 2017 and the Walter Swan Prize, 2017-18 and she has further stories out or forthcoming in various other anthologies and journals.
