WordPress is the most popular content management system on the web. This hands-on course will teach you everything you need to know about setting up and maintaining a WordPress website. You will start from scratch and build a site over two days. Topics include setting up web space, choosing a theme (look), creating and editing content, adding images and video, and adding functionality, e.g. e-commerce. You can use your own web space (the tutor can advise you on this before the course) or a practice site (provided by the tutor). We will also look at examples of author sites and what sort of content to include.
After attending the course you will be able to:
- Set up Web Hosting and Install WordPress
- Choose, Add and Configure a WordPress Template (look)
- Build, Administer and Update a WordPress website
- Add and configure WordPress Plug-ins and Widgets
- Administer WordPress
Suitable for those who are familiar with general computer use and web browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox), but no previous experience of WordPress is required. Own laptop is required.
